How much do The Friends of the Deep Valley Libraries programs cost?
The cost of an average children’s book is between $7.00 to $16.00. For many families this is a few gallons of gas to get to work or groceries and a jug of milk for the morning cold cereal for the kids. The last thing on a parent's mind is buying a book to help their child learn to read. Reading forms the basis for writing and learning. A child is lost without having this skill in a technological age. Educated children become a productive part of society and not a burden by turning to crime. The Friends of the Deep Valley Libraries help foster this positive community development through the distribution of books to children. However, the cost of printed materials continues to rise. This is where you can also help through membership, volunteer work, and donations.
